When sand finds a second life

At Loroux-Bottereau, we recycle sand molding clods, transforming waste into a useful and sustainable resource for the environment.
As part of our ongoing efforts to reduce our environmental footprint, we have redesigned the management of new sand used in the manufacture of our molds at the Loroux-Bottereau site.
Given that our volume of use is insufficient to set up an internal regeneration system, we have chosen a responsible alternative: recycling the sand clumps from our production. These are now crushed and resold to cement plants, where they are reused as material. This process transforms what was previously considered waste into a useful resource, fully in line with the circular economy approach.
We are proud of this concrete initiative in favor of more responsible resource management and will continue our efforts to sustainably reduce our environmental impact.
PS: Our sand has a slight red tint due to the hardening resin used during molding. However, its low chemical content classifies it as non-hazardous waste.
