In 2025, the LEMER Foundry confirmed its commitment to passing on its expertise and promoting Nantes' industrial heritage. Throughout the year, it opened its doors to various audiences eager to discover the demanding and fascinating world of foundry work.
February 25, 2025 – Discovering Nantes' industrial heritage
The LEMER Foundry was delighted to welcome around thirty retirees from the ATSCAF 44 association for a convivial and enriching afternoon. This gathering gave visitors the opportunity to immerse themselves in Nantes' industrial heritage through a guided tour of the workshops and a presentation on the company's history. It was a special opportunity to share insights into expertise that spans generations.
March 12, 2025 – Passing on passion to younger generations
What if industry was the future? The LEMER Foundry welcomed the association L'Outil en Main France, whose mission is to introduce young people to manual trades, crafts, and heritage. Five young people had the opportunity to discover the foundry trades, explore the workshops, and gain a better understanding of its history, backed by 147 years of expertise.
March 28, 2025 – Promoting foundry trades
The LEMER Foundry welcomed the steering committee of the Groupement des Fondeurs de L'Ouest (Western Foundry Group), whose objective is to promote and develop foundry activities and trades in the region. After a strategic meeting, the participants were able to visit the workshops and enjoy a hands-on immersion in the company's expertise and manufacturing processes.
April 4, 2025 – Open Factory Days
As part of the Open Factory Days organized by Arts et Métiers, around thirty visitors got a behind-the-scenes look at the LEMER Foundry. The program included presentations on different trades, demonstrations of manufacturing processes, a focus on innovation, and discussions with the teams. It was a great opportunity to show how industry combines tradition and modernity.
April 30, 2025 – Another discovery tour
The LEMER foundry once again opened its doors to around twenty retirees from the ATSCAF 44 association who wanted to discover the foundry's expertise. Participants were able to explore the workshops, learn about the manufacturing processes, and talk to the teams about safety, innovation, and the company's history.
June 18, 2025 – Immersion with L’Outil en Main
The LEMER Foundry welcomed 14 visitors from the L’Outil en Main association – Loroux-Bottereau branch, including 10 young people, for a complete immersion in the world of foundry work. History, trades, expertise, safety, and discovery of the workshops: a hands-on experience to inspire vocations and pass on a passion for the industry.
December 4, 2025 – Promoting industrial heritage
At the end of the year, the LEMER Foundry was pleased to welcome the Maison des Hommes et des Techniques, an association committed to promoting the industrial and social heritage of Nantes. It was a highlight marked by remembrance, transmission, and regional roots.
